Blog Entry #6
Technology should be produced to "Help" these employees rather than take over their jobs completely. Technology can be made that would make the lives of these employees more simpler while still being on the job. We need to ask ourselves what is more important, having Americans employed or having technology so advanced that it'll do the job for us? People are the ones making these machines that are taking jobs from other people. There truly is no need to make these machines when people are doing their jobs just fine by themselves. The last thing that needs to happen is the people that are losing their jobs to all these new kinds of technology need to take a stand. If for some reason millions of American's job were replaced by new technology and computer run machines, the government would definitely need to step in. Even though I disagree with a lot of the jobs that people think will be taken away, there are solutions to finding jobs to replace the ones that could potentially no longer exist. Even though there are a lot of jobs that can be replaced, many companies will always need real people. The government can increase spending to these companies to keep expanding so as jobs are being lost, more are always being created. First off I would look at jobs that cost more for robots to run it than humans, and instantly replace them. I would then set up simple jobs that may or may not need to be done. I would try to find jobs where humans and robots could work together.
